Song was fucking awful yesterday....time's running out for him to prove his worth keeping hold of.

Obiang was by far our best midfielder, but you know he'll be shunted back onto the bench.

Alternatively, Noble played very well while Song was busy giving the ball away at every opportunity.

But then that's just me, what would I know, I imagine the BBC highlights provided a better view than 90 minutes at the stadium...

What I heard was Noble was poor.......song was in control of the game after negative Noble went off.

Heard that Obiang also had a good game.

With the midfielders we have Noble should not be getting a sniff.

Never easy when the opposition are there with the sole intention of ruining the game to get a replay and the positive is we've all lost count of the times when we've failed to ever break them down, so to nick a win was magic.

And I'm thankful to jelavic for his goal and my winnings, but teams playing those tactics must be overjoyed to face so an immobile striker.

Tell the difference when he had support and the magician behind him.

Love it.

My sole criticism of this season was encapsulated in that game - when we have most of the possession we mostly look clueless.
That said, I quite enjoyed the match for some reason.
I'm just a happier cunt under Slav I guess.

Kouyate who probably runs the most had a day off.
As did Ogbonna, Tomkins , Valencia & Adrian.
Noble had a short day and both Carroll & Payet were both eased back in with 20-30 mins.
We should be ready to go on Tuesday with Moses also ready to come back via the bench.

Good to grab a home match, possibly my last chance. It was no classic, but sat in the Chicken Run by the half way line was a perfect view of Jelavic's goal. I saw that was going in from the moment it left his boot. Very sweet half volleyed finish. Let's hope he pushes on from there. There is obviously a decent goalscorer in there still.

Nice assist from Carrol too, to boost his confidence.

With another match on Tuesday, I think we did the perfect thing, which was to get into the next round without getting out of second gear, which was enough in the end.

Thought Antonio looked our biggest threat until Carroll came on.
As I said earlier I thought Carroll looked more physically like himself than he has so far.
Good to see both of them getting better week by week.

Was reading that the Wolves player who collapsed was making his first start since Dec 13 after back surgery. And it was his back that went again. Reckon he might be done.

All in all it went well

We're in the next round

No more injuries (as far as I know)

Several players on their way back from injury got a run out as did a youngster

A dull & boring game that in all honesty we didn't look like losing (short of throwing it away)

Now let's look forward to getting some points at Bournemouth!

Sweet strike of the ball by Jelavic though.

I'd say that ccould be why he doesn't get picked for his country?

Coffee - Don't be a cunt. I understand that Payet is the latest player to be above criticism on here, bless, but I say it how it is due to the fact of not giving a single fuck..

Payet also cost a goal at Sunderland but doing my Sam style stats, he created more penalty box entries that any other player so far this season. Therefore, Payet stays.

I thought Song was dogshit, and 3 holding midfielders is a big no no at home, especially against terms who sit in.

How was the SKIP?

Back to normal?

Noble did ok, got a rest before Tuesday too. Song was diabolical as usual, consistently gave the ball away and offered nothing.

Carroll looked confident and skilful on the ball as well...

Clever assist for our goal as well... His performances have been very encouraging in recent weeks...

Hope he keeps it up...

Re: West Ham v Wolves - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
Yeah ED you're right, the game was made for him, thought I'd have brought him on at 1/2 time in place of jelavic myself, was surprised that Noble was switched for Payet & that Jelavic stayed on when Carroll was introduced, but it worked well, Noble got 1/2hr off, then Carroll assisted the goal..

Eerie Descent 10:04 Sun Jan 10
Re: West Ham v Wolves - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
Have to say, Carroll looked absolutely superb when he came on.
